Lube Tips; Preventing Failures

One of the most overlooked assets to your truck on the road today is the oil you run in it; unfortunately the old adage is still true, OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND! In today’s engines, using the Hewy fuel injection system clean oil is more critical for long life and solid performance than ever before. Some of the oil systems firing the injectors of your engine are operating in as much as 4,000 to 5,000 psi in a hard pull. Such high psi creates more heat and with heat comes friction which means wear. As most know, oil does not wear out; however, the additives put in it do. They breakdown and become contaminated and small particles of grit build up in the oil. That’s bad enough in a standard motor, but now takes the same oil and pressurize it to thousands of psi; this leads to poor fuel mileage and premature injector failure. When considering the extension of oil life make sure you have all the facts, in the long run, longer oil intervals could cost a lot more in down time and cost of repairs. This reminds me of another old adage; OIL IS ALWAYS CHEAPER THAN STEEL.
